NATIONS  FRESH  FOODS  donated  Personal  Protective  Equipment  (PPE)  to  Trillium  Health  Partners  (THP)  –  Mississauga  Hospital  

NATIONS  FRESH  FOODS,  a  grocery  chain  store  with  their  head  office  in  Mississauga,  is  donating some personal protective equipment today for medical staff  for the  caring  of  patients  during  the  pandemic,  to  the  Trillium  Health  Partners  –  Mississauga  Hospital.  

On  Tuesday,  April  14,  2020,  the  donation  of  76  of  protective  gowns,  5,000  of  masks  and   20,000  of  gloves  were  delivered  to  the  THP  –  Mississauga  Hospital  by  Mr.  David  Wei,  Senior  Executive  Director,  Mrs.  Lilian  Kwok,  Director  of  Business  Development  of  Nations  Fresh  Foods,  Senator  Victor  Oh,  MPP  Natalia  Kusendova  (Mississauga  Centre)  and  Mr.  Stephen  Chu,  Treasurer  of  Mississauga  Chinese  Business  Association.    Mr.  Bryan  Lowes,  Logistics  Manager  from  the  Hospital  was  on  site  to  receive  the  donation.  

“Our  Company  understands  that  supplies  of  personal  protective  equipment  for  frontline  health  workers  are  in  critical  demand  amid  the  spread  of  Covid-­19  and  we  recognize  the  importance  of  our  role  to  play  during  this  challenging  time.”  says  Mr.  David  Wei.  

“On  behalf  of  the  Senate  in  Ottawa,  I  want  to  thank  the  great  work  being  done  by  everyone  who  continues  to  work  diligently  during  this  unprecedented  time!”  says  Senator  Victor  Oh.  

MPP  Natalia  Kusendova  of  Mississauga  Centre  thanked  Nations  for  their  generous  donation  and  commends  the  efforts  of  community  groups  coming  together  to  fight  COVID-19.  

While  MPP  Kusendova  continues  her  duties  as  an  MPP,  she  has  also  returned  to  her  previous  career  as  a  Registered  Nurse  in  the  Emergency  Department  at  Etobicoke  General  Hospital.  Ms.Kusendova  explains  the  urgent  need  for  PPE  as  a  frontline  worker.  She  applauds  how  well  our  communities  have  come  together  to  help  protect  first  responders  and  health  care  workers.  

“As  an  RN,  it  is  truly  heartwarming  to  see  the  daily  outpouring  of  support  from  our  friends,  neighbors  and  community.  My  colleagues  in  the  frontline  inspire  me  with  their  courage,  dedication  and  compassion  they  exhibit  each  and  every  day  in  this  fight  against  COVID-­19.  I  am  happy  to  play  a  small  part.”  said  MPP  Kusendova.  

Nations  Fresh  Foods  would  like  to  thank  all  nurses,  doctors  and  all  frontline  health  care  workers  spending  hours  at  hospitals  and  medical  centres  treating  patients  with  COVID-­ 19  and  wants  to  urge  everyone  to  step  up  to  help  during  this  uncertain  time!
